Why is IONOS increasing its prices?

Our third-party provider, Microsoft is increasing the licence costs for the Microsoft Windows Server Standard and Microsoft Windows Server Datacenter operating systems. As we can only offset the rising costs to a limited extent, we are adjusting the prices for Windows Server licences.

Do I have to do anything?

You do not need to do anything. The price adjustment will take place on the date stated in the letter. All technical features and individual configurations of your server remain unaffected.

Will I lose included features or add-ons that were purchased for my contract?

No. All current functions and extensions to your contract will be retained.

Will my website still be available during the changes?

Yes, there will be no downtime. The price adjustment has no effect on the availability or function of your IONOS product.

How will the price adjustment be shown on my invoice?

The price adjustment is clearly marked on your invoice.

Can I switch to another contract or even upgrade?

If your Dedicated Server is managed in the Cloud Panel and you would like to switch to a new server with a different configuration, you can do this within your existing contract. To do so, create the desired Dedicated Server in the Cloud Panel, and manually migrate the data from your existing server. If you have a Cloud Backup, you can use this to create a complete backup of your server and then restore specific files and folders to your new server.

I am not interested in making changes to my contract. What can I do?

The price adjustment is due to the increase in prices charged by Microsoft. The technical features and individual configurations of your server remain unaffected. As we can only offset the rising costs to a limited extent, we are adjusting the prices for Windows Server licences.

Can I cancel products affected by the price increase?

Yes, you can cancel products affected by the price increase via IONOS Account > Contracts & subscriptions > Contract number.

If your Dedicated Server is managed in the Cloud Panel and you no longer need it, you can delete the server within the Cloud Panel. As soon as you have deleted the server, fees will no longer be charged for that server. A final invoice will likely be issued on the next billing period. In this case, your contract remains active, and you can order a new server in the same Cloud Panel. If you order a new server with a Windows licence, you will be charged the adjusted price.
