Valid for online shops ordered from 2017 onwards.

With different payment methods, you enable your customers to pay with numerous services, e.g. credit card or PayPal. This article explains how to add a payment method to your IONOS Online Store .

Set up payment method

  • Log in to your IONOS account.

  • In the title bar, click on Menu > Websites & stores.
    Optional: Select the desired website.

  • Click on Manage website.
  • On the Manage and edit your Online Store page, click Manage Online Store.
  • In the administration interface, select Settings in the menu.
  • Click on Payment in the menu that opens.
    Please note: Prepayment, invoice, cash on delivery, and cash payment are already entered as system defaults. If you do not want to offer a payment method, click on it and either click on the Visibility  entry and then on Switch to invisible, or click on the trash can symbol next to the Visibility entry to delete it.
  • Under Add payment method you will already find the most common payment methods such as PayPal and Stripe. If you want to set up a different payment method, click on Show all and select the payment method you want to set up from the overall view, then follow the respective steps to set up the corresponding payment provider.
  • Under Sorting, you can enter a value according to which the individual payment methods in the Online Store are sorted for the customer.
  • If you have not yet completed setting up the payment provider, you can do this at any time by clicking on Complete in order to establish the connection to the respective payment provider, and follow the corresponding instructions.
