For the Website Builder and the MyWebsite
This article describes how to change the page title and description for each subpage of your MyWebsite.
The page title of your homepage is the text that appears at the top of your browser window. If a visitor saves your homepage as a favorite, this is the text that is displayed.
The description for search results should be short, meaningful and describe the content of the subpage. Each subpage can have a description that differs from the main page. Customized search terms help to find subpages more precisely.
This article describes features of the Website Editor ordered before 09/06/2017.
For other versions of the Editor select Editor version.
Step 1
Step 2
On the main menu, click Manage Pages.
Step 3
Select the page you want to edit on the left side of the page overview. Here you can change the display of the side column for the selected page or determine whether the page should be visible to your visitors. You can also assign a password here and thus create a protected area for selected users.
Step 4
Scroll down. Each subpage uses the default settings for page title and description. If this is the case, you can tell by the note "You are using the default SEO settings for this page". More about this function can be found in the article Standard Page Description and Title of MyWebsite.
Customize the title and description by clicking in the respective field and entering text.
Step 5
Click on Preview to see the approximate representation in a search engine. Click Reset in the lower left corner to restore the default settings.
Step 6
Click Optimize Search Result to return to Edit Mode.
Step 7
The changes are saved automatically when the window is closed.
