In this article you will learn how to add a product to your online store.
Create products
Click on Products in the menu. All products that have already been created are displayed. Click on Add > Product.
Set up the following under Item number and Name, Visibility:
- Product number: Specify a unique number under which the product should be saved.
- Product visible in shop: Select whether the product should be displayed in your online store.
- Product name: Specify the name under which the product should be displayed in your online store. If you do not enter a product name, the product will be displayed under the article number.
Set up the following under Description:
- Description: Briefly describe the product. The description informs the customer about product details. The description is also important so that the product can be found via searches in your online shop and via search engines such as Google.
- Essential features: Summarize the key features of the product, e.g. size, weight, color.
Set up the following under Stock and delivery period:
- Stock level: Enter the current stock level for this product. This stock level of your MyStore is automatically updated when, for example, a product is ordered or you cancel an order (order status "Rejected", see Help Center article "Edit order status"). If a product reaches stock level 0 during an order, only the available quantity is transferred to the shopping basket. Example: 4 units are ordered, but only 2 units are still available. Only the available 2 pieces are transferred to the shopping basket. If a product reaches stock level 0, a message will always appear in your online shop stating that this product is currently out of stock.
- Minimum stock level: Enter a minimum stock level. The minimum stock level is the value from which you should reorder the product. The minimum stock level should not be less than the minimum order quantity (see below). You can set the email events so that you as the administrator are automatically informed by email when the minimum stock level for the product has been reached (see Help Center article "Setting up email events").
- Delivery period: Enter the period in which you will deliver the product after the purchase has been completed.
Set up the following under Extended quantity and price details:
Price refers to: Enter the quantity to which the price refers, e.g. 1 piece.
Minimum order quantity: Enter the minimum order quantity from which your customers can order the product.
Increment: Enter a scale for the orderable quantities. Example: With a scale of 2 and a minimum order quantity of 3, your customers can order the following quantities: 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 etc. If customers enter a different quantity, the quantity is automatically adjusted.
Reference unit and Amount in product: Use these fields to define a reference price so that your customers can better compare the prices of identical products with different quantities. Example: For a 0.75 liter bottle of wine, enter 1 liter under Reference unit. Enter 0.75 under Included in product. This will display the reference price for the bottle of wine in the online shop.
Set up the following under Shipping details:
Delivery weight: Enter the shipping weight of the product.
Dimensions: Enter the size of the product to be shipped. This information is taken into account, for example, for shipping methods whose shipping costs depend on the weight of the products ordered (see Help Centre article "Managing shipping in MyStore").
If possible, set up the following under Manufacturer details:
- Manufacturer: Enter the manufacturer of the product.
- Manufacturer Product No.: Enter the manufacturer product number.
- Product code (e.g. EAN): Enter the product code. A product code can be, for example, the EAN code (machine-readable barcode) on the packaging.
Keep the setting "Basic" under Attributes and click on Save to add the product to your online store.
