Valid for MyWebsite and MyShop

In this article, you will learn how to set up email events. With an email event, an email is automatically sent when something specific happens. For example, an order confirmation email is automatically sent when a customer completes an order in your online store.

Set e-mail sender

In the menu, select Settings > Email events. If you have not yet defined a sender for the e-mail events, proceed as follows.

  • Click on Enter sender address now.
  • Click on Edit behind the From field.
  • Enter the e-mail address and, if applicable, the name of the sender. You can change the sender at any time later for each email event.
  • Activate the Use this address as the default sender for all email events option.
  • Click on Apply.
  • Click on Saved.

Activate e-mail events

  • In the menu, select Settings > Email events. In the Emails to user area, activate all events for which emails are to be sent to your customers.

  • In the Emails to administrator section, activate all events for which emails are to be sent to you as the administrator of your MyShop.

  • Click on Save.

If one of the activated email events occurs immediately, an email is automatically sent to the customer or administrator.

Edit e-mail content

To edit the content of an email that is sent for an email event, click on the email event. The email template appears.

  • To edit the sender's e-mail address, click on Edit behind the From field.
  • To send the email as a copy or blind copy to people, click on Edit after the corresponding field and then enter the email addresses.
  • To edit the subject of the email, change it directly in the Subject field.
  • To edit the content of the email, click on an area with a dashed frame. Note: Once you have changed the content, click on the close icon in the top right-hand corner.

Note: For some email events, you can insert personalized information into the subject line, e.g. the customer's order number. To do this, click on Insert placeholder and select the appropriate placeholder.

Finish your changes by clicking on Save.

To send a test email to the sender email address, click on Send test email.
