Valid for MyWebsite Now.
The flexibility feature allows you to freely place text and graphics in your MyWebsite Now project. This article explains how to do this.
You can find basic information on editing and design options in the article Welcome to MyWebsite Now:
- Customize templates
- Design: Colors and styles
- Contents: Pages and structures
Notes
- The flexibility feature is not included in all MyWebsite Now products.
- The flexibility feature must be activated separately for each section.
Activating the flexibility feature
To activate the Flexibility Feature:
- Log in to your IONOS account.
- Click on the Websites & Stores tile. If you have multiple website contracts, click Manage Website in the appropriate tile. The Presence Suite for this project opens.
- In the Presence Suite menu bar, select Website Editor. MyWebsite Now opens in a new window.
- Select Content in the left-hand menu bar of the MyWebsite Now editor.
- In the detail window, move the mouse pointer over the desired section and click on the Section options button. Details on the section options are displayed between the left menu bar and the detail window after activation. Note that the Section options button is only displayed when the mouse pointer is over the section.
- Click on the Try it now! button to activate the flexibility feature. If the flexibility feature is already active for the section, the button is not displayed.
If the Try it now! button contains an additional arrow symbol, your current version of MyWebsite Now does not support the Flexibility feature. Click on the button to switch to a version that contains the Flexibility feature via the Show all plans button that appears.
Moving elements
Once you have activated the flexibility feature, move elements within the selected section using the mouse:
- Move your mouse over the element to be moved. The element is highlighted and a square symbol appears in the top left-hand corner.
- Click and hold down the mouse button on the element. A shaded grid is displayed on which you can move the element freely. The grid and section expand automatically if you move your element beyond the grid limits.
Create a group
If several elements in a paragraph are functionally or graphically related, you can combine them permanently in a group. This allows you to move the entire group instead of many individual elements.
- Move your mouse over the element to be moved. The element is highlighted and a square symbol appears in the top left-hand corner.
- Click on the square icon to select the element.
- Repeat the previous step for all elements that you want to add to the group. Note that you can only add elements to the group that are surrounded by a dashed line.
- In the Multiple options column next to the menu bar on the left-hand side, click on the Create new group button. This button is only displayed from the second selected element onwards.
- Move the mouse pointer over the newly created group. An arrow symbol is displayed in the top right-hand corner of the group.
- Move the group by moving the mouse pointer over the arrow symbol and dragging it with the left mouse button pressed. As when moving individual elements, a shaded grid is displayed to assist you.
Ungrouping elements
To ungroup a group, move the mouse pointer over the three-dot symbol and wait a short moment until it expands. The three-dot symbol is displayed in the top right-hand corner of the group next to the arrow symbol when the mouse pointer is positioned over a group.
Click on the rectangle icon to remove the grouping.
