Set up the Usercentrics app and manage cookie banners

The Usercentrics app enables easy integration of the Usercentrics Consent Management Platform into your MyWebsite Creator project. This article describes the basics.
Please Note
The Usercentrics app will no longer be available for MyWebsite Creator as of November 2024. New installations will not be possible, but already active installations can still be used.
- Please note that if you reset your MyWebsite Creator project after November 2024, the Usercentrics app will no longer be available. An alternative integration for paid Usercentrics plans is described in the Help Center article "Alternatives to the Usercentrics App (Cookie Consent for MyWebsite Creator)."
- IONOS strongly recommends switching to a current cookie consent management solution. The Help Center article "Alternatives to the Usercentrics App (Cookie Consent for MyWebsite Creator)" provides information about alternatives.
Set up the Usercentrics app
- Open the MyWebsite Creator via your IONOS account.
- Click on My apps > Usercentrics in the left-hand navigation.
- Click on Start setup. Your website will now be analyzed for the tracking technologies used. This may take a moment.
- You will receive a list of the tracking technologies found. Click on Confirm configuration.
- Fill in all the necessary information and select the desired settings for your cookie banner. You can edit the settings again later, at any time.
- Click on Save to finalize the setup and integrate the cookie banner into your website.
Note
In order for the cookie banner to be displayed on your website, you must republish your MyWebsite Creator project.
Delete Usercentrics app (deactivate cookie banner)
If the cookie banner should no longer be displayed on the website, the Usercentrics app must be removed:
- Open the MyWebsite Creator via your IONOS account.
- Click on My apps in the left-hand navigation.
- Click on the three-dot menu in the Usercentrics tile.
- Click on Uninstall app. The Remove Usercentrics page is displayed.
- To remove the Usercentrics app, click Remove.
The cookie banner is now automatically removed from your website. It is not necessary to publish the website again.
