Integrating Block Storage on a Server (Windows)

For Cloud Servers running Windows Server 2019 or 2022
If you assign a block of storage to Windows Cloud server, you must then mount it. In this article, we'll show you how.
Prerequisites:
You have created a block storage.
You have assigned the storage to the server.
You have logged in to the server as an administrator.
Open the Server Manager.
Click Tools > Computer Management.
From the menu bar on the left, click Storage > Disk Management . The assigned storage block is displayed as a disk with the status Unknown. In addition, the associated memory space is not allocated.
Right-click on the name of the storage.
Click Online.
Right-click the volume name again.
Click Disk Initialization.
In the Disk Initialization window, enable the GPT (GUID Partition Table) partition style.
Click OK.
Right-click on the black area of the storage.
Click New Simple Volume. The Create New Simple Volumes Wizard window opens.
Click Next. The Set Volume Size window appears.
Leave the default setting and click Next.
Select the desired drive letter and click Next.
Optional: If you are using the block storage for the first time, you must format this drive. When you format it, all of the data on it is deleted. To format the block storage, select Format this volume with the following settings and select the desired settings.
Click Next.
Click Finish.
The block storage is now formatted and displayed as an additional drive in Windows Explorer.
