If you delete an email account which has email archiving enabled, the email archive gets deactivated and automatically renamed after the deletion. All emails that were in the email archive remain there. You can delete these emails yourself as a Data Protection Officer in the email archive. You can find instructions on how to do this in the following article:

To remove an email account and all of the emails it contains from the email archive, please contact IONOS Customer Service.
To delete an email account and all of the emails it contains, you must send written permission to IONOS Customer Service for security reasons.
Once an email account and all of the emails it contains are deleted from the email archive, it is no longer possible to restore the emails.
